Analytics: The real-world use of big data

IBM’s Institute for Business Value (IBV) with the Saïd Business School at the University of Oxford, partnered to explore how organizations understand and have begun leveraging big data to create competitive advantage in the marketplace. This joint study, Analytics: The real-world use of big data; How innovative enterprises extract value from uncertain data, addresses the journey organizations are taking to achieve business value from big data.  Based on a survey of more than 1100 business and IT executives, combined with executive interviews and case studies, the findings establish the benchmarks that define the big data era ahead.  The IBM Executive Report digs deep to determine exactly where executives are in relation to big data — what it means to them, what opportunities they see, where they are doing well, and where they need help to progress.

On November 7, at 1:00 ET, Michael J. Schroeck, Partner/Vice President, IBM Business Analytics and Optimization and Dr. Janet Smart, Senior Research Fellow at Saïd Business School, University of Oxford will share the phases of the “big data” journey, the objectives and challenges of organizations taking the journey, and the current state of the technology being used to drive results!
